About us
The Department specializes in comprehensive diagnostics and treatment of diseases in elderly patients, especially related to cognitive disorders. At the Department, we conduct individual rehabilitation and group exercises, and patients participate in daily activities and presentations of films in the field of health promotion and health prevention. In addition to treating seniors, it is important to educate their carers, which is why the staff of the Department conducts educational classes for entire families. We suggest how to care for seniors, also when they get sick, how to train their memory and take care of their good condition. There are 18 beds at the disposal of patients.

MA in Nursing, MA in Management, specialist in geriatric nursing, moreover, she completed postgraduate studies in Geriatrics and gerontology, she is in the process of further postgraduate studies in Psychogeriatrics.
Specializations
- Full geriatric assessment of the patient: from emotional disorders, through fitness assessment, to old age diseases
- Full spectrum of necessary medical examinations: ECG, ultrasound, colonoscopy, panendoscopy, computed tomography of the head and internal organs
- Diagnosis and treatment of internal diseases in cooperation with other departments of the hospital
- Treatment and diagnosis of neurological diseases
- Disturbances of cognitive functions, especially long-term memory in the elderly
- Diagnosis and treatment of Parkinson's and Alzheimer's diseases, i.e. progressive diseases of the central nervous system
- Work with a psychologist and daily educational activities: lectures and film presentations in the field of health promotion and health prevention
- Education of entire families and carers of the elderly (lectures and trainings conducted by geriatric specialists) and free campaigns to detect the early stages of dementia
- Treatment of degenerative diseases of bones and joints
- Movement classes in the hospital gym: from manual exercises to rehabilitation with the use of lamps and lasers (electrostimulation)
- Rehabilitation of patients carried out individually and in groups
