About us

The birthing tract of the Megrez hospital consists of 4 comfortable birthing rooms with floral names:

Lavender room with a birthing tub,
Cherry Room,
daisy room,
cornflower room.

Each delivery room is equipped with amenities for patients: balls, mattresses, beanbags.
Each room has its own full sanitary facility. We create an atmosphere of intimacy and coziness. Full safety of patients is ensured – we have CTG monitoring with a view to the Obstetric Surveillance Room and a system for summoning personnel from delivery rooms and bathrooms.

Within the Birth Route, there is a Caesarean section room, where we perform planned and emergency cuts.

After a caesarean section or in the event of increased observation, the patient is transferred to the Postpartum Observation Room. Monitoring is installed in this room, enabling continuous observation of our charges. Each willing patient has the opportunity to use epidural anesthesia, available 24 hours a day, free of charge. The Birth Route has undergone a general renovation – it was put into use by Patients in June 2021.

FAQ

Elective admission (cesarean section/labor induction/diagnosis)

On the day of admission, the patient reports with an identity document and a referral to the Admission Room of our ward (entrance from the main Admission Room on level “0”). It is important to come on an empty stomach, without jewelry or painted fingernails. You should bring medical documentation with you: pregnancy card, blood group test results, laboratory test results, prenatal tests, hospital discharge cards. After accepting and collecting the medical history, the patient is transferred to the Birthing Tract/Maternity Ward. A CTG record is made, fetal ultrasound is performed. We also put on a venflon, take blood for laboratory tests. Emergency admission

We also accept pregnant patients in emergency mode. No hospital referral is needed. As in the case of a planned admission, the patient reports to the Gynecology and Obstetrics Emergency Room (entrance from the main Admission Room at level “0”) You should bring medical documentation with you: pregnancy card, blood group test results, laboratory test results, prenatal tests, hospital discharge cards. After accepting and collecting the medical history, the patient is transferred to the Birthing Tract/Maternity Ward. A CTG record is made, fetal ultrasound is performed. METHODS OF RELIEFING BIRTH PAIN

A patient in labor can use various forms of labor pain relief: aromatherapy, water immersion, laughing gas. The midwife conducting childbirth selects the method of pain relief to the patient’s preferences. Women giving birth are encouraged to use facilities such as: • balls, • saco bags, • mattresses, • birthing chair, • rope above the birthing tub. • epidural.

WATER BIRTH

Our birthing system offers the possibility of giving birth in water. The Lawenda birthing room is equipped with a comfortable birthing tub, which the birthing patient can use both in the 1st and 2nd stage of labour. Warm water helps ease the pain of labor and relaxes your muscles. The feasibility of water birth is assessed by the obstetric team, depending on the fulfillment of the required conditions and the well-being of the mother and child.

FAMILY BIRTH

We practice family births. It is possible to participate in the birth of one accompanying person (more in the COVID-19 tab). The accompanying person plays an important role in childbirth – he supports the patient, helps with massage, changing position.

CORDL BLOOD BANKING

Umbilical cord blood can be collected. The hospital cooperates with the following entities that bank this material: • Polish Stem Cell Bank, • Progenis, • Diagnostics. Our midwives are trained in umbilical cord blood collection

BIRTH PLAN

We encourage future mothers to create a Birth Plan. It is a document in which the patient contains expectations regarding childbirth, e.g. whether she wants to give birth in water or use vertical positions. The midwife conducting childbirth discusses the Birth Plan with the patient – it becomes part of the medical records. We make every effort to ensure that the moment of birth for every woman is as comfortable, painless and safe as possible. It should be remembered that childbirth is a dynamic process, and thus some wishes of pregnant women may be impossible to fulfill due to the safety of the woman giving birth and the child. The Birth Plan can be downloaded here

AFTER BIRTH

After a physiological delivery, the patient stays in the Birthing Tract for 2 hours, then she is transferred to the Obstetrics Ward, where she stays with the newborn. An accompanying person may also accompany the patient during this time. The midwife helps to put the baby to the breast for the first time. According to the Perinatal Care Standard, measurements and nursing procedures of a physiologically born newborn are performed 2 hours after birth.
The Caesarean Sections Room is located within the Birth Route. We make both planned and sudden cuts on it. Within the Cesarean Sections Room, there is a neonatal station where, immediately after birth, the neonatologist assesses the child on the Apgar scale and performs a preliminary physical examination. We also measure the newborn’s body here. The accompanying person during the Caesarean section cannot enter the Operating Room. While waiting for the patient, she has the opportunity to kangaroo a newborn baby. We have a special, comfortable chair for this purpose.
