The rules for providing additional patient care are based on the applicable provisions of the Act on Patient Rights and the Patient Rights Ombudsman.

Additional patient care may be provided provided that the proper provision of health services is not disrupted and that the rights of other patients are respected.

Additional care is provided by a person indicated by the patient.

A person indicated by the birthing mother may attend and provide additional nursing care at the Hospital during pregnancy, vaginal delivery and postpartum.

Persons providing additional care in dormitory rooms, due to respect for other patients and ensuring rest conditions, are asked to leave the ward by 10:00 at the latest. 22.00.

The person providing additional care may not, without the consent of the medical staff, give the patient any medicines, dietary supplements, herbs, etc., and food products not approved by the medical staff.

The person providing additional care must agree on the performance of a given activity with the nurse or midwife and perform it after receiving instruction and education in this area.

Additional care cannot be provided by intoxicated persons, persons with symptoms of infection, persons who do not comply with hygiene rules.

The person providing additional care is obliged to notify the nurse or midwife of the arrival and departure of the hospital.

A person providing additional care to a patient may not demand remuneration from the Company for this.

In order to provide other patients with the right to privacy and due to the organization of work in the ward, relatives caring for the patient are obliged to:
- comply with the regulations of the branch.
- respect other patients lying in the room, do not disturb them and do not absorb them too much with your presence,
- do not comment or express opinions about the health of other patients.
- leave the patient's room for the duration of medical activities performed on patients.
- if disturbing symptoms are observed in other patients, call for medical help (doctor/nurse),

List of activities that can be performed under additional care.
Activities related to maintaining proper hygiene:
- bathing/washing the patient in the bathroom,
- body toilet in bed,
- washing head in bed
- pool pass, ducks,
- diaper change,
- making the bed without changing the bed linen,
- making the bed with a change of linen (bed linen, personal),
- replacement of the external ostomy bag.
Activities related to mobility:
- help getting out of bed,
- walking aid,
- help in ensuring a comfortable sitting position,
- turning to the side, help in changing position,
- use of bed amenities,
- performing passive exercises in bed,
- wheelchair transport.
Activities related to feeding and watering the patient:
- feeding assistance,
- mouth wetting, oral toilet,
- assistance in giving fluids to drink.
IN THE CASE OF THE GYNECOLOGICAL AND OBSTETRICAL DEPARTMENT, ADDITIONALLY:
- accompanying the patient,
- presence at birth.
